Holy to Whole

A reflection on more than Easter…

by Patsy – Purnima Griffiths, custodian of Global Contact Bookstore

I’ve reflected lately on the relationship between “whole” and “holy” and how both attributes support one another. When we are out-of-sync with our own wholeness, by reaching inwards for the Sacred (ie Holy) we are able to experience peaceful wholeness once more. We do this by taking faith-filled or trust-full action and/or devotional practise.

This thinking led me to Easter and Jesus and primarily, (well mostly) Mother Mary.

We know much about Jesus but hey what about his Mum. How Holy (whole) must she have been to bring Jesus into the world.

And I think Mother Mary must have dug deep into the Holy to bow-into surrender when harm was occurring to her Son.

Mother Mary’s natural motherly protective instinct would likely have taken her out-of-sync and, it seems to me, she chose to action LOve instead of harm in those seemingly flight-or-fight moments.

I don’t know if Mary knew what was to unfold through & from the Mystery of that time, or that Easter would be (or could be) an example of death & rebirth for anyone who has eyes and hearts to see…

Many of us are going through our own death-to-life or life-to-death moments & I think they inevitably occur to show us that things just aren’t as we thought and that they are  offerings into our own Sacred and Holy individual ascension processes to our Wholeness.

With LOve,

Patsy/Purnima
